29 Oct Lets Take a Break!
Let’s talk about the lunch room, every office has one, but they are seldom used – why? With high workloads people feel like they do not have time to take a break for lunch and opt for a quick snack at their desk instead. However, studies show that taking breaks can actually increase productivity. A properly designed break room will encourage employees to eat together, engage in conversation, and begin to understand one another on a personal level. This will strengthen employee connections increasing their ability to work together and collaborate with one another in the work place. Employers are realizing these benefits and are encouraging lunch breaks to promote health in the office. From a design perspective, a break room that is enjoyable to be in is more likely to be utilized resulting in a win-win for staff and employer.
