Trout Lake Recreation Centre

About This Project

A brand new, modern community centre providing a gathering space for neighborhood residents. Trout Lake Community Centre, built for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, features a 4,000-square-foot fitness centre, outdoor festival plaza, indoor ice rink, gymnasium, dance studio, licensed preschool, café, art and pottery studios and meeting rooms. JM&C provided furnishings for each distinct area of the centre. Contemporary choices included sleek stacking chairs for stability and durability, as well as the Pluto Bench from British designer Simon Pengelly—its sculptured, contemporary form is ideal for creating extra room in public spaces.
